Breast implant removal, also known as explantation is a surgical procedure where breast implants are removed from a person’s breasts. The procedure typically involves making an incision in the breast, removing the implant, and sometimes removing any surrounding scar tissue (capsulectomy). Recovery time varies depending on individual circumstances and whether any additional procedures are performed concurrently, such as breast lift surgery.
