Who We Are
The Kenya Society of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons is a non-profit society started twelve years ago and registered with the registrar of societies on the 10th of November 2006. A group of Kenyan Plastic Surgeons felt that the field of plastic surgery required a society in keeping with an international high standard of plastic surgery. A big part of the society’s vision is to give back to communities by regularly performing camps among other mandates. With this in mind, the society regularly hosts cleft surgery camps in collaboration with Smile Train. To date, through this collaboration, over 300 patients have been successfully operated. One smile at a time. The surgeries have been held at various hospitals serving diverse populations including Kitale, Kakamega, Kapenguria, Litein, Garissa, Meru, Homabay, Machakos, Mombasa, and many more.
Mission
To become a global authority and leader in setting standards of Clinical care in Plastic Surgery.
Vision
The KSPRAS mission is to advance quality care for plastic surgery patients by encouraging high standards of training, ethics, physician practice, and research in plastic surgery. To support its members in providing excellent patient care, KSPRAS will provide education, advocacy, practice support, and enhanced public awareness of the value of plastic surgery, while fostering the highest professional, ethical, and quality standards. The Society is a strong advocate for patient safety and requires its members to operate in accredited surgical facilities that have passed rigorous external reviews of equipment and staffing.
Values
Plastic surgery encompasses both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. KSPRAS Member Surgeons are trained, experienced, and qualified to perform both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures on the face and all areas of the body.
